When checking my bank statement, I noticed I had been charged $23.00 and I had no clue what it was for. Fortunately, the statement listed this phone number (855-239-8684), so I Googled the number and did some research to figure out what this charge was for. After some digging, I found that this charge was somehow connected to the store FYE. Two months ago, I bought some CDs from FYE and they asked if I wanted to sign up for a discount, so I did. Along with the discount, they told me I could pick out three magazines and I would get them for two months for free. What they didn't explain to me was that I was actually signing up for a subscription to FYE's Backstage Pass (or some name like that), which costs $11.99 a month, and a magazine subscription. I called FYE's customer service and had this service canceled because I hardly ever shop at FYE and didn't need to spend $11.99 a month for discounts and promotions. My subscription was canceled and everything was fine. Two months pass by and I notice the $23.00 charge on my bank statement. My research into this showed me that even though I canceled my subscription with FYE, I still had a subscription for the magazines they made me sign up for, but I had no idea how to unsubscribe from this service. I discovered that the magazine company that is tied with FYE is called Synapse Group Inc. To unsubscribe from their magazine service and stop from being charged, go to their website and create an account using the email you used when you signed up for FYE's backstage pass. After that, you can login and manage your subscriptions. They make you cancel each magazine individually, so make sure you unsubscribe from all of them. I hope this was helpful to anyone who had the same problem as me!

What is it?
My son had this happen to him just a few days ago. He tried to call the 855 number listed for the $17.50 charge. They kept asking for his credit card #, which my son said NO. They finally used the address, and he was told that they had no subscriptions for that address. i tried to call the 203 number someone referenced above, and all I got was a machine that said they couldn't take my call and hung up. My son and I then called his checking account representative. She said she would call the 855 number with him (my son). When the rep identified herself as my son's financial rep, the person was suddenly very helpful and canceled all 4 magazine subscriptions and said they would provide a full refund. My son had his current card closed and is having a new one issued. I recommend asking your financial rep for assistance in getting the subscriptions canceled, cancel/close out the card you used, and get a new card issued. and one more thing, never sign up for anything! hope this is helpful.
ATTENTION! I also had the same problem. The charges will appear differently but will have a phone number attached. That 855 number will direct you to an automated machine that will manage your account--but it will trick you and is a pain in the a**. Instead, I Googled the company these subscriptions come from--because they don't come from F.Y.E. It's Synapse Group, Inc. They have a customer service call center but I called their main phone at (203) 595-8255. Here I got an English-speaking woman who canceled all the magazines and refunded the money ($23.00) to my account.
I got charged twice for magazines subscriptions, I called 877-813-0320 I spoke to a representative, I gave her a code that was on my bill, she confirmed it was from there magazines subscription and cancelled them but also refunded my money with no issues.
This just happened to me on January 25th, 2017 and I had to call the card company I used to pay with when I was at the store FYE in order to report this unauthorized magazine charge! I too had already canceled the membership from FYE the month before then all of a sudden Cosmopolitan magazine arrives without me even signing up for it! The worst part was this charge occurred on a Thursday & I don't get paid until Friday so since I didn't have enough money in my account my bank charged me an overdraft fee of $34.00 which I had to dispute too by explaining what happened to them as well! I'm glad Rebecca posted how to get in touch with this other company to cancel their subscription because I'm going to do that next! This is definitely a scam they are running so buyers please be aware this may happen to you too!!
