This charge is associated with an online dating type website that you encountered. It is legit and they didn't steal your card number. You entered it into their system. All of their associated and affiliated companies now have it too. Most of which are porn sites in other countries and, once they have your card number, it is nearly impossible to prosecute or do anything legally to stop them. Most of them are in the UK. Even though you thought you were subscribing to a "singles in your area" kind of site. Funny, flirt.com just now notified me that a really pretty girl wants to chat with me. If I click on it, about 20 seconds will pass and a pop up window will open telling me that for "X" number of dollars I can watch some naked girl doing something to herself. I choose not to and click the red X at the top right corner. Guess what?? There is no working red X. Once I have clicked it the charge hits my card immediately. Their data shows that you intentionally clicked the window and agreed to the charge, blowing away the possibility of legal action. But then you're not going to another country for a 25.00 or 50.00 charge anyway. They know this and are banking on it!!! More than likely you purchased a trial membership, or full membership, that you can call a number at anytime to cancel. As usual, the number to cancel your membership seems to be a phone that nobody ever answers and the messages you send to cancel do not get read. This happened to me and my bank helped me get to the bottom of it. Only thing you can do now is cancel your bank card or hope they will not take any more money from you. Once you entered your card number, someone in an office in another country said, "cha ching...Sucker, HA HA HA" Sad but true. Cancel your card and be done with them.
Sincerely,
James
